Relay recently celebrated a proud moment in its 38-year history by taking the millionth order for our specialist transport and logistics services. Our special thanks to technology solutions provider SCC for being our millionth customer and to all those who have helped us reach this landmark event.

 

Much has changed in the type of equipment transport logistics assignments that Relay handles. At the outset our projects primarily involved the transport of drilling equipment required to service North Sea oil operations centred on Aberdeen. Since then the company has evolved and expanded, with our reputation in the transport and logistics field centred on specialist transport applications involving high value and fragile technical equipment ranging from computer systems and multi-functional printers to medical scanners and scientific instrumentation.

 

Additionally, our network of international supplier partnerships means that we can offer seamless high quality freight services throughout the world. With Relay, the valuable technology entrusted to us by our customers is always in safe hands wherever the destination may be and whatever land, sea and air routes are used.

 

Since Relay was launched in 1975, the number of specialist transport projects we handle has grown exponentially and has now reached approximately 10,000 per month. At this rate, while it took about 38 years to reach our millionth customer, the two million mark is likely to be passed in a mere six to seven years from now. One thing that will not change, however, is our strong commitment to provide transport and logistics services of the very highest quality.
