Environmental regulations state that businesses have a duty of care to see that waste produced through their operations is responsibly disposed of, with an emphasis on re-use and recycling when possible.  This includes monitoring their suppliers when work is carried out on their behalf.

 

Relay, as a specialist deliverer of bulky and fragile equipment such as photocopiers, uses significant quantities of cardboard, plastic, shrink wrap and foam to ensure that deliveries arrive undamaged and that the assignment is carried out safely and efficiently. On completion of installation, we remove all packaging materials and ensure their disposal in accordance with regulations.

 

However, by installing baling equipment at our Iver and Warrington depots, we will now be able to recycle large quantities of both cardboard and plastics, and we believe that this will reduce the volume of materials sent to landfill by as much as 50%. The Kenbay Recycler Balers we use are rapid and efficient, with a cycle time of 47 seconds and a compaction force of 25/30 tonnes. The vertical balers, which feature hands-free loading, auto bale eject and many other useful benefits, will not only help Relay meet our environmental targets but also provide us with recycled cardboard as a saleable commodity.
