There are anniversaries this year for both Relay as a company and for our Warrington depot in particular.

Develop is probably the only photocopier manufacturer to be able to offer its dealerships next day delivery as a consistent standard throughout the UK. This stems from the highly efficient warehousing and transit operation set up by Relay in cooperation with the customer, Develop Sales (UK).

With four warehouses at Iver and expanded facilities at Warrington and Coatbridge, Relay now has approximately 90,000 square feet of storage area to offer its customers. This is not dead space but highly specialised and resourced warehousing.

The ways Relay uses to track customer consignments grow more sophisticated day by day. One of the newest additions to our range of technological aids is Geofencing, a brilliant positioning tool that can pinpoint the exact status of a delivery or collection.

Major deliveries of multi-functional photocopiers and other equipment from our customer Kyocera have recently been carried out to a leading asset management company and a well-known national supermarket chain. In both cases, the projects were problem free, thanks to careful planning between their logistics team and Relay. Each job was the final stage in a rationalisation of equipment advised by Kyocera for both customers and brought to successful conclusion with Relay’s support.

The Mandata system Relay installed at the Basildon offices of our customers Konica Minolta provides the very latest in enhanced route mapping technology. Two very large LCD widescreens provide a superb real-time overview of our fleet activities, identifying the trucks shipping Konica Minolta (KM) multi-functional photocopying equipment and defining the status of each delivery to all KM logistics personnel continually throughout the day.

 Relay delivery crews have a key role in our operations and their expertise in installing valuable and fragile equipment is supported by intensive technical training. Frequently, deliveries may have difficult access at locations. When Relay recently won the contract for a nationwide PDI (post delivery installation) programme for Sharp Electronics, a comprehensive training schedule was launched for our specialist delivery crews.
